THE CAPITAL ACCESSIBILITY EXPANSION PROJECT

The Charlotte Street Arts Centre (CSAC) is one of the cornerstones of Fredericton’s cultural community. We strive to make arts experiences available to all. To grow in our mission, we need to adapt our historic 1884 building to be more accessible to all, regardless of age or ability. We’re also improving our public spaces so that CSAC can offer a first class experience for small venue performances.

We’re planning an addition to our building that will house an accessible lobby, a new elevator that makes all floors fully reachable, and a box office for our performance hall. We will refurbish our 175 seat small venue performance space and create a new backstage area, a green room, and several additional rooms that will be available for rent to artists or arts organizations.

With our renovations comes the opportunity to sponsor or name some of the most important spaces in our Centre. Sponsoring a room gives you and your family/company/organization visibility at dynamic cultural events that occur almost daily at the centre.

Auditorium

Post renovations, the CSAC auditorium will be Fredericton’s premier, fully accessible, small-venue downtown performance space. The 175-seat space will enhanced and upgraded lighting and sound equipment offering the potential for diverse cultural performances. An ideal rental space for weddings, meetings and other events, the auditorium will become a high traf c hub at the CSAC.

Naming Commitment: $150,000

Auditorium Lobby

Attendees and performance participants gather pre and post performance in this high traffic common space located just outside the auditorium. For donors who take pride in supporting the performing arts, this is an ideal space in which to visibly demonstrate that support.

Naming Commitment: $50,000

Community Arts Room

This room will be home to the CSAC’s much valued ArtsReach program, developed by artists and cultural supporters. ArtsReach has already positively impacted hundreds of children, youth at risk, seniors, ethnic minority groups, abused women, the homeless, mental health patients and those coping with post incarceration transition.

Naming Commitment: $25,000

Green Room

Your naming support for the pre and post performance gathering spot for performers located just behind the auditorium will be a visible demonstration to the arts community of your belief in and support for the value of the arts to the social health of our community.

Naming Commitment: $25,000

Elevator Donor

The very critical and high cost elevator addition is key to the accessibility and inclusiveness of the entire centre. All donations of $1,000 or more in support of the elevator addition will be recognized on a separate donor wall located in close proximity to the elevator.
