Job Purpose
The purpose of this position is to organize logistical details (set/up tear down maps, volunteers/event staff, equipment use, promotion, etc. ) for the events in the Charlotte Street Arts Centre (CSAC) either presented by us or other groups, and to promote programming for CSAC including classes, ArtReach and workshop opportunities.
SUMMARY
The Events Coordinator will mostly work in the “off hours” of the Administrative office as to help create a better presence in the centre. The main focus of this position is to promote events through social media platforms, organizing our “card campaign”, and keeping our website up to date.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Fundraising
Continue the implementation of the “Card Campaign” which is a recent e-commerce initiative to sell reproductions of our studio artists’ work to bring in money for programming, gallery space, and performance space improvements.
Media Relations
Redirect/organize media consultation to the appropriate party;
Maintain networks with media contacts. (ie. Newsletters for programming)
Incorporate the organizational mission, vision and values into all visual representations of the organization.
Use the organizational social media and web presence to build a diverse and engaged client and customer base for the Charlotte Street Arts Centre;
Use social media sites to increase traffic to the Charlotte Street Arts Centre website and encourage use;
Foster brand awareness and increase client satisfaction with the organizational representation on the web, in order to inspire loyalty;
Collect and evaluate feedback from external sources through monitoring Google Analytics and other web-based statistical data collection systems.
Recap on the 6 week events (to send to the Board)
Human Resource and Staff Management
Ensure that Event Staff is utilized effectively, well trained, supported and has the opportunities to operate with high job satisfaction and at optimal performance levels;
Monitor, measure and evaluate Event Staff performance against objectives/plans and provide feedback;
Take use of our Fundraising and Volunteer Coordinator’s volunteer recruitment system is in place;
Community Development
Initiate and implement a comprehensive approach to service and program delivery, advocacy and public relations in partnership with other relevant community organizations;
Develop and maintain a community resource network;
Seek regular input and support from community groups delivering similar services;
Collaborate, cooperate, liaise and seek input with other community groups delivering similar services, in collaboration with the Program Director where appropriate;
Prepare funding applications for potential grants for events;
Qualifications
As this is a Canada Summer Jobs placement, requirements are to be between 15 - 30 years old.

Experience

Working knowledge of relevant community resources
Experience in the non-profit sector and community development
Language: Proficiency in both official languages is an asset but not required
Valid driver’s license an asset
