Storytelling through Photography and Poetry

  • 732 Charlotte Street Fredericton, NB (map)

Storytelling through Photography and Poetry seeks to merge the powerful visual art of photography with the evocative nature of poetry. By combining images with poetic narratives, this workshop will amplify the emotional and thematic depth of each subject, providing a multi-layered experience for the audience.

Photography is a dynamic tool for storytelling, capturing fleeting moments and complex narratives. Similarly, poetry has the power to convey deep emotions, abstract thoughts, and introspective experiences. This project recognizes the potential of both mediums to complement each other, enhancing the power of each form. By pairing photographs with poetry, this project will explore how the two art forms can create a richer, more immersive storytelling experience.

The workshop will begin with a photowalk around the neighbourhood. These collected images will then serve as inspiration for the poetry aspect of the workshop.

Participants will need a digital camera or mobile device capable of capturing images.
