This introduction to the most playful style of hand embroidery (also called “doodle stitching”) will get you comfortable choosing colours and materials as well as creating a variety of basic stitches that can be combined to create beautiful complex looking textures. This type of slow cloth stitching is a very relaxing, meditative hobby that allows you to create gifts, embellish your clothing, accessories and home decor. We will create a small piece of textile art and you will leave with all the tools and knowledge necessary to keep stitching. No prior experience necessary.

No equipment necessary and no need for participants to bring anything.

Instructor Bio:

Raised in Germany under her grandmother’s sewing table, Cat took her first stitches around age 3, attempting to make pants for her Teddy. She learned to crochet and cross stitch around the same time as learning to read and write but with much more enthusiasm. She moved to Canada as an exchange student and stayed to complete her diploma in Fashion Design from the New Brunswick College of Craft & Design (NBCCD). After spending 3 years in England making theater costumes, Cat returned to Canada and has been sewing, teaching, and making art ever since.

Refund Policy: Any registrant who cancels their registration 10 or fewer days prior to the start date of the class/workshop will forfeit a $50 cancellation fee. The remainder of the registration cost will be refunded. No refunds will be issued once the program begins.
