The Grapes of Wrath: Acoustic Duo with Special Guest Kylie Fox

  • 732 Charlotte Street Fredericton, NB (map)

Experience the songs of one of Canada’s most beloved alternative rock bands in an intimate new setting as The Grapes of Wrath’s Kevin Kane and Tom Hooper take the stage as an acoustic duo.

From their beginnings in Kelowna, BC, to gold and platinum albums, international touring, and some of Canadian radio’s most enduring songs, The Grapes of Wrath have built a legacy spanning more than four decades. Hits like “All The Things I Wasn’t,” “Peace of Mind,” “What Was Going Through My Head,” “I Am Here,” and “You May Be Right” helped define an era of Canadian music.

For this special acoustic performance, Kane and Hooper strip the songs back to where they began, putting the focus on the melodies, harmonies, and songwriting at their heart. Along the way, they’ll share stories from a musical friendship that began as kids jamming together in a Kelowna basement and continues today.

Opening the evening is Kylie Fox, whose distinctive brand of Americana blends humour, wit, ’70s glitz, and a distinctly Canadian perspective. Drawing inspiration from the lyricism of Joni Mitchell, the whimsy of Jenny Lewis and Adrianne Lenker, and the commanding showmanship of Brandi Carlile, Fox has developed a sound and stage presence all her own.

Following two albums and a 40-date tour, Fox earned an ECMA nomination for Solo Artist of the Year, three PrixNB nominations, and performances at Toronto’s Come Together Festival and Canadian Music Week.

Join us for an evening of timeless Canadian songwriting, stories, harmonies, and songs you know by heart, presented in the intimate acoustic setting they deserve.
