Jamming During January

We hope you had a wonderful holiday season!

At the Charlotte Street Arts Centre, after some much needed rest, we’re ready to rock out! Luckily, in Fredericton, January is filled with fun community festivals. Between Shivering Songs and FROSTival, we’re excited to host some wonderfully unique and entertaining events!

And check out these gorgeous woven baskets crafted by our Back To Our Roots participants before the break. We still have three amazing workshops available under Back to Our Roots, and you can find out more information here.

The Charlotte Glencross Scholarship - 2022 Recipient

A huge congratulations goes out to the 2022 recipient of the Charlotte Glencross Scholarship, Meghan Mainville! Meghan is a contemporary dancer, and here’s what she has to say:

"I am very grateful to say that I am the 2022 recipient of the Charlotte Glencross Scholarship. I am a contemporary dancer from Bathurst, NB. I currently work as a dancer, choreographer, teacher, stage manager, and arts administrator in New Brunswick and Ottawa. I will be using the Charlotte Glencross Scholarship to participate in the Limón Launch training program in New York from February to May 2023. This program will allow me to study Limón modern dance technique directly from the source, making me a stronger and more versatile dancer! I am looking forward to spending the next few months in NY!! Thank you for helping me achieve this goal!”

Congratulations Meghan! We can’t wait to see your new moves when you’re back from New York!

The Charlotte Glencross Scholarship for Professional Development in the Arts is a $2000 scholarship offered every two years to an artist who is progressing in their professional development through classes workshop, school, or professional endeavor. Applications for 2024 will open in Spring 2024.

Jola Adeniji Exhibition

We’re enthusiastic to have Jola Adeniji present his works in the Charlotte Glencross Gallery. Jola is a hyper-realistic and multidimensional visual artist. Hailing from Nigeria, he received a Bachelors degree in Theatre Arts before moving to Fredericton to study at NBCCD. His strength is finding creative solutions to problems.

Check out opening night on January 26 at 4:30pm. This exhibit runs until March 13, so be sure to add this to your FROSTival Gallery Hop Plans!
