Nicole Rampersaud and Joel LeBlanc perform at CSAC May 30

Trumpet player Nicole Rampersaud and multi-instrumentalist Joel LeBlanc will perform an evening of improvised music at the Charlotte Street Arts Centre on Friday May 30.

Trumpet Player, composer, and improviser Nicole Rampersaud’s performances are widely lauded for creating compelling sonic worlds that combine spontaneous lyricism and an extensive timbral palette through remarkable technical command of her instrument. Nicole is the co-founder of the online improvisation series, Understory, connecting artists from across the geo-political territory known as Canada.

Composer and multi-instrumentalist, Joel LeBlanc is primarily a self taught musician. Much of his formative training was earned on the road with the award winning trio Hot Toddy who toured internationally from 1997 to 2009. Joel collaborated with the late Ken Aldcroft to record and tour the album The Long and Short of It beginning his foray into freely improvised music. LeBlanc has since collaborated with several musicians including Arthur Bull, Evan Shaw, Nicole Rampersaud, Mark Adam, Tom Easley, Andrew Miller and Nadia Francavilla.

This event is all ages.
