(Fredericton, New Brunswick). The Charlotte Street Arts Centre has received a $20,000 Community Board grant from the TELUS Friendly Future Foundation supporting the development and launch of a new program for youth (ages 12-18) dedicated to audio recording, live-streaming and podcast production. The program will be delivered through the Centre’s youth programming branch - ArtReach - and will provide access to equipment, mentorship and training in sound engineering and digital media.
“This support from the TELUS Friendly Future Foundation will have an incredible impact on our programming for youth,” said Matt Carter, executive director of the Charlotte Street Arts Centre. “Building upon existing ArtReach programs in music and visual arts, the generous support received from TELUS will empower youth to take their creative work to the next level, whether by recording their debut single or producing their own podcast. By helping to amplify youth voices and creative expression, this grant marks a major investment in the youth of our community.”
“Through our partnerships with charities supporting youth, we understand the challenges young people in these situations face,” said Nimmi Kanji, Executive Director of the TELUS Friendly Future Foundation. “We are proud to be able to support the Charlotte Street Arts Centre with a Community Board grant in order to help them create a platform for future generations to have their voices heard.”
