Charlotte Street Arts Centre (Fredericton Arts & Learning Inc.) has been named the recipient of the 2025 New Brunswick Foundation of the Arts Fund award in the amount of $6900.
The New Brunswick Foundation for the Arts Fund has named the Charlotte Street Arts Centre (CSAC) the recipient of its 2025 grant award. This donor-advised fund managed through the Fredericton Community Foundation was designed solely to support arts and culture organizations in the province.
"On behalf of the board and staff at the Charlotte Street Arts Centre I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to the New Brunswick Foundation for the Arts (NBFA) for recognising our commitment to the community. Over the past year we have been working hard to reimagine our place and purpose and the many ways an arts centre can support and contribute to a vibrant, inclusive community. This award will go a long way to further our commitment to making arts engagement in the Greater Fredericton Area an accessible reality for all."
This year’s selection was made by the fund’s co-advisors, Anne Bertrand and Nadia Khoury and comes in the form of a $6900 grant to the organization.
“Our decision was based on the accomplishments that the Charlotte Street Arts Centre made throughout the year, evidenced by the popularity of a welcoming and vibrant arts centre which has a lasting presence in the greater community,” said Bertrand.
In early 2024, CSAC introduced a robust arts engagement initiative that has so far included more than 60 public classes and workshops across a wide range of artistic disciplines. Other recent initiatives include a weekly Open Studio program for seniors and Piano Mondays program which provides barrier free access to the centre’s baby grand piano.
“We have had the extreme pleasure of welcoming hundreds of new faces into the centre over the past year or more for classes, workshops, performances, and gallery openings,” said Carter. “It really feels like our community is growing each and every week. This gift from the NBFA will help us continue our mission to bring people together to learn new creative skills, build friendships, and find new inspiration.”
