Faster Than Light

Charlotte Street Arts Centre in partnership with The Multi-Cultural Association of Fredericton, Isaac's Way and The City of Fredericton present Faster Than Light. Photography is an accessible art that allows youth to have a voice and to convey to others how they view the world around them. It is accessible because a picture can express the artists sentiment non-verbally and without language barriers. In a two week workshop series Kelly Baker, a storyteller and professional photographer with work with the youth as our lead facilitator. Kelly worked on the first iteration of this project back in 2016, you can see her stunning work here: www.kellybakerphoto.ca

The workshops will take place on May 3rd, 5th, 10th & 12th followed by an exhibition at Charlotte Street Arts Centre in the fall of 2022.

Tuesday May 3rd Workshop 1: photography fundamentals-composition, framing and style

Thursday May 5th, Workshop 2: photography fundamentals-light, story and mood

Tuesday May 10th Workshop 3: experimental photography: movement and time

Thursday May 12th Workshop 4: the next level: post processing

We are excited to see our beloved city through the eyes of Newcomer youth and to share their work with the public. This project is FREE for participants and materials will be provided. Sponsored by Charlotte Street Arts Centre, The City of Fredericton and Isaac's Way.
